As a person an Artist is not known as a text however as a complete media prodcut they are known as texts. The complete media product would include:

• The image
• The language within the songs
• The sound

These combine to create the 'text'.



The image that is being portrayed here by Justin Bieber is one that makes him as a text. He is portraying himself to be the perfect 'boyfriend' to any 12 year old girl. By portraying ths image it would make this target audience adore him as the text he is trying to become. If he were to still target the 12 year old girl audience however portray himself as a gothic character it woud not make his text complete with the sound and lyrics that he creates.

The language within songsmde by Justin Bieber are seen to be portrayed as to be one again to make him seem as if he is the perfect boyfriend to any young / teenage girl. For example his song 'boyfriend' makes it seem as though it is personal to that one individual watching him perform the song.
